Launch from Louisville

And so a few thousand of the Episcopal Church’s faithful have taken over downtown Louisville for the 81st General Convention! Amongst the crowds of Episcopalians are the entire House of Bishops, the House of Deputies which includes deputations of laity and clergy from each and every diocese of the Church. And then there are also exhibitors, visitors, special guests and so on.

Saturday was a day of orientation for bishops and deputies who are involved in legislation. Surrounding those activities were some special events including a revival worship service at the KFC Yum! Center Saturday night. Then today, Sunday the 23rd, legislation officially began in both houses.

Here are some images and captions from the first two days, and I’ll be back tomorrow with more posts. Enjoy!
